Some Great Ways To Help You Save Money Too!
Hello beautiful people and welcome to my little corner of the internet! In today’s post, I’d like to share with you some tips that I believe have impacted my budget and even my overall health week to week. I know most of us struggle these days with what exactly to get when visiting the grocery store. Getting in and out as quickly as possible can seem like a daunting task. Especially when the majority of us only make the trip every couple of weeks since this Coronavirus fiasco has taken over.
Here I have listed my Top 5 Tips (plus a bonus!) for making sure that you are shopping a little healthier and maybe even a tad bit smarter . Enjoy!
- Take/Keep Inventory of the items in your pantry. This way you will know what you have on hand and what you may need to add to your list before heading to the store.
- Always shop with a list. I always keep mine on my phone and add to it as things pop into my head. Checking off items as you walk the aisles or browse the web-pages will help keep you focused.
- If you notice that you seem to buying the same product every single week, maybe try getting some of those items from a bulk store like Costco. Especially large packs of water. Try to skip Sodas and Juices as Teas & Waters are much better for your health and often much cheaper!
- Skip the bottled water while you’re in your home. Sometimes, a big 32 count water bottle pack isn’t that costly, but if you’re using these bottles every single time you reach for water then you would be consuming 7-10 of these bottles every day. By doing this, your big water pack could be gone in 3-4 days. Now, if you get one of the bigger jugs of water and use that while you’re around your home then you can use the bottles for when you venture out of the home. This way, you will probably end up buying the packs half as often!
- Think up some meatless meals! In-season produce is almost always decently priced and a bulky veggie meal, like a stir fry, could last in the fridge for 3-4 days. Eat it on its own tonight and add it to some grilled chicken tomorrow!
- BONUS! Try to NEVER throw out produce. If it can be helped, always make use of fruit or veg that may be about to take a turn for the worst. A nutrient packed smoothie, a batch of banana muffins, a loaf of delicious zucchini bread, or even a tasty carrot cake that your kids will be begging for is always an option for these occasions!
Shopping can be fun! It does not always have to be a stressful trip to make. This list will hopefully help make your next visit go a bit smoother.
