Hi y’all.
I’m Vicki, the voice here behind The Blessed Homemaker blog. I want to continue speaking to you today about HOW to become a Christian. If you haven’t read Why Christianity Part ONE yet, then please mosey on over there first. You can read this post now if you’d like, but it would really help to read *Part ONE* first in my opinion.
Now, we left off in Part One with the ABC’s of becoming a Christian.
A – Admit – Admit to God that you are a sinner. Repent, turning away from your sin.
B – Believe – Believe Jesus Christ is God’s Son and accept God’s GIFT of forgiveness from sin.
C – Confess – Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Let others see Christ in you. In your actions, your attitude, your words.
If you believe you are ready to accept Christ as your savior, ready to turn away from your sinful ways of life, and invite Him to abide within you and change you for the better then please, skip right on down to the bottom from now if you wish. Either way, I hope this post brings you a little more encouragement and hope than you had prior to reading.
In my previous post, Why Christianity, we talked about why Christianity makes way more sense than the other “religions” out there. The Word of God is reliable and unfailing, unlike other religions. Christ came to live on earth and to eventually die on the cross, saving us from our sins. God humbled himself and walked the earth as Son of Man. Bearing all the sins of the entire world, present and future, while on that cross. He was calling out to God the Father who, in that moment couldn’t hear Him because of all the sin. He took our sins on Himself so that when our day comes, we won’t receive that same wrath of God.
Billy Graham had this to say over on billygraham.org when someone asked what Jesus meant when He said that God had abandoned Him on the cross.
” In reality His words point to something far different. They point to the fact that when Jesus died on the cross, all our sins—without exception—were transferred to Him. He was without sin, for He was God in human flesh. But as He died all our sins were placed on Him, and He became the final and complete sacrifice for our sins. And in that moment He was banished from the presence of God, for sin cannot exist in God’s presence. His cry speaks of this truth; He endured the separation from God that you and I deserve.
This is a profound truth—and yet it also should bring us great comfort. Because Christ died for us, we need not fear death or Hell or judgment! The Bible says, “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God” (1 Peter 3:18).
God didn’t abandon Jesus, and He won’t abandon you. Make Him part of your life today.“
Our salvation IS A GIFT to be received, not something to be earned.
Ephesians 2: 8-9
8 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Christ Himself tells us exactly who He is and what is to come.
Mark 14:61-62
Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?”
Jesus said, “I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.”
Some people have said those men never saw this in their lifetime so it must not be true. There is a “Questions & Objections” section in the Evidence Bible pertaining to this section and I’d like to share that with you now. It can be found on page 1418 in the Evidence Bible.
The hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His voice (see John 5:28-29). There is going to be a resurrection of the just and the unjust (see Acts 24:15). Every eye will see Him. The chief priests will bow the knee before Him. So will Hitler, and every murderer, rapist, thief, and liar. All will bow down to Jesus Christ and confess Him as Lord of the universe (see Romans 14:11; Philippians 2:10,11). He is the Creator of all things (see Colossians 1:16), and every human being will see Him in His glory, including you.
John trembled in terror when he saw the resurrected Christ, shining with a brightness greater than the sun (see Acts 26:13).
So it would be wise to stop rejecting Him as a false prophet. Instead, confess and forsake your sins, and put your trust in Him while he extends His mercy to sinful men and women. He has waited for over 2,000 years because He is not willing that any perish, but that all come to repentance (see 2 Peter 3:9). Everything Jesus said would happen has happened throughout history (see Matthew 24, Luke 21), so you can bet your very soul that those men Jesus said would see His coming as sure as hell will see it.
Below, I have referenced the above Bible verses so you can have them at your fingertips.
see John 5:28-29
Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth – those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.
see Acts 24:15
I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust.
see Romans 14:11
For it is written:
“As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”
see Philippians 2:10,11
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
see Colossians 1:16
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
see Acts 26:13
at midday, O King, along the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who journeyed with me.
see 2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
see Matthew 24
- Nation will rise against nation. V7
- famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. V7
- Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. V11, V24
- Because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. V12
- BUT HE WHO ENDURES TO THE END SHALL BE SAVED. v13
- For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. V27
And so much more.
see Luke 21
- The widow’s two mites (Roman coins) were worth more than gifts of the rich.
- Jesus predicted the destruction of the temple.
- Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’… V8
- there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. V11
- You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But not a hair on your head shall be lost. V16&17
And so much more.
Now, after all that good scripture, let’s get to the real “meat” of this post. I want ALL of you, who ever you are, where ever you are, I want you to know this :
YOU ARE WANTED.
You are worth something. You are a child of God. Whether you understand exactly what that means or not, that’s what I and so many others are here for. We’re working every day to grow and to understand just a little bit better that we might share the Good News with you. You can join us. I urge to you look within and begin your relationship with God today.
To receive the gift of eternal life, you must repent of your sins (turn away from them), and put on the Lord Jesus Christ as you would put on that parachute from PART ONE of Why Christianity. You must trust in Him alone for your salvation. Your own “good works” will not get you into Heaven, it will not save you from the sinning you’ve done against God. You will not bribe God! The Bible says that He is rich in mercy to all who call on Him, so call on Him right now. He will hear you if you approach with a humble and sorrowful heart. Confess your sins to God, put your trust in Jesus Christ to save you, and you will pass from death to life. You have God’s promise on it.
Here is a sample prayer.
“Dear God, today I admit to You that I am a sinner. I willingly turn away from my sinful life (name your sins). I put my trust in Christ alone as my Lord and Savior. Please forgive me, change my heart, and grant me Your gift of everlasting life. In Christ’s name, Amen.”
Now, have faith in God. Never doubt the promises God has made you, they will not be broken.
You will prove the sincerity of your prayer by the way you live your life from this point forward. Know what He commands of you and immerse yourself in His Word. Read and study your Bible daily and strive to obey what you read.
I recommend the Evidence Bible if you are searching for one. There are so many tips, questions, and answers much like what you’ve read here today. Some of this came from my Evidence Bible. I hope these words, these verses have spoken to you and that you have made the choice to live for Christ from this day forward.
No one says it will be easy, in fact the Bible tells us that it won’t. But it will be worth it. That is a guarantee.

Lots of Love,
